OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) is the target standard for measuring manufacturing productivity. Simply put – it identifies the percentage of manufacturing time that is truly productive. An OEE score of 100% means you are manufacturing only Good Parts, as fast as possible, with no Stop Time. OEE means 100% Quality (only Good Parts), 100% Performance (as fast as possible), and 100% Availability (no Stop Time).
Measuring OEE is a manufacturing best practice. By measuring OEE and the underlying losses, you will gain important insights on how to systematically improve your manufacturing process. OEE is the single best metric for identifying losses, benchmarking progress, and improving the productivity of manufacturing equipment (i.e., eliminating waste).
XTS developed a good software for Production good metric that can identifies the percentage of planned production time that is truly productive. An OEE score of 100% represents perfect production: manufacturing only good parts, as fast as possible, with no down time.
We moving towards IOT 4.0, Vision 4.0, Maintainance 4.0, Production 4.0. The complete solution for Industry 4.0
OEE is useful as both a benchmark and a baseline:
As a benchmark it can be used to compare the performance of a given production asset to industry standards, to similar in-house assets, or to results for different shifts working on the same asset.
As a baseline it can be used to track progress over time in eliminating waste from a given production asset.
